Ha Ha Tonka - “Falling In”

I don’t really have a great story to go along with this song… I went to a show, these guys opened and I fell in love with this song.  No joke.  I want to marry it.

I am writing to you from Maryland… Baltimore… Fell’s Point… Somewhere. Fear not though as I have iced chai and free internet and I shall soon return with many photos, records and a lot less money.

Dr. Dog - “Hang On”

This is one of my favorite songs off of Dr. Dog’s new album, “Fate,” which comes out today on Park The Van Records.

I didn’t really get Dr. Dog til I saw them live a few months ago. Then the pieces started to come together. I was ridiculously impressed by their ability to harmonize so well. That’s probably my favorite element of their music. It gives their songs such a rich sound.

Dr. Dog’s music has such a way of coming together as well as being able to blend elements of music from a different era and still make it sound new and ‘fresh.’ Their music has a vintage feel to it… taking something old and revamping it to represent the present.

They’ll be on tour all of this year and into 2009. You should definitely catch them when they come to town. It’s a hell of a live show.

Yep.
